Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone (ADAFZ) has recorded an increase of 109% in the number of companies registering with the free zone authority in the first half of 2020, when compared to last year.
Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, spoke on the success of the zone and said that ADAFZ has proven its role as a powerhouse of economic activities across the emirate through its performance this year. ADAFZ through its work can co-operate with the comprehensive stimulus package announced by the Abu Dhabi emirate which will ensure a free flow of international businesses in the emirate. With the increase in the number of companies working in the zone, it will definitely flourish the economic status of Abu Dhabi, he added.
“The success of ADAFZ in attracting new international customers is testament to the strategic investments which our organization has made in our suite of services and wide range of facilities available at the three airports, providing organizations with a one-stop-shop to establishing a business in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.”, said the head of Property Management and Leasing at ADAFZ, Adel Al Taheri.
The investments made during the global pandemic have proven to be wise, with the enhanced air cargo and freight transports which supported in the successful operations of health, food, and beverage, and e-commerce sectors said, Taheri. He also stated that they will continue to work in order to ensure that their partners benefit from their services as the world overcome the crisis of the pandemic.
As ADAFZ reports its 2020 bi-annual results, an increase of 109% in the issuance of licenses is shown. It also shows that majority of the companies that signed the agreement belonged to the aviation, e-commerce and health sectors. ADAFZ also focused on giving priority to the companies based in Europe and Middle East in the ICT, logistics, pharmaceutical, and consultancy management sectors
